Riverland – Friends of the Womens and Childrens Hospital

Berri & District

The Berri Auxiliary is 50 years young and still going strong, with a founding member, Dalma Cooper, still participating in fundraising events.

Members of the Berri Auxiliary have used a variety of strategies to raise money for equipment that benefits Riverland families, particularly those with premature babies.

Events held have, among others,  featured activities (golf, bowls, bingo and craft), food (pie and pasty drives, morning teas and luncheons), and  goods (garage sales and trading tables). Berri Auxiliary welcomes new members who can contribute a little or a lot!

Renmark & District

Renmark Auxiliary2

Formed in 1957, Renmark Auxiliary has 11 very enthusiastic members who are at various stages in their lives. Relaxed meetings are held monthly for no longer than an hour, other than the December Christmas dinner! Members, some of whom have had family members or friends who needed the hospital’s services, contribute to whatever extent they are able and are well supported by others in the community.

Fundraising events include badge days, raffles, trading tables, morning teas, candlelit suppers, Melbourne cup luncheons, fashion parades, homemade marmalade sales, quiz nights and events throughout Renmark’s Rose Week. Renmark Auxiliary welcomes and values suggestions and input from community/new members.
